Wetbacks
Wetbacks on log burners can be used to heat the water in your hot water cylinder - or to circulate heat throughout radiators in your house!
Does your wetback ever boil your cylinder? This is very inefficient as the boiling water needs to be dumped onto your roof and then replaced with cold water in your cylinder which then needs to be reheated. A radiator can transfer this excess heat to another area of the house where it is used, not wasted.
With a solar hot water-wetback combination the solar preheats your cylinder even in winter, leaving even more energy from your fire available for heating radiators.
Imagine all your water and space heating from the sun and wood!
