Backup Generators
There will be times when there is no sun or wind for an extended period of time, or friends arrive and power consumption doubles for a few days, or the occassional use of very large loads is required, such as the intermittent use of large workshop tools. It is often not financially viable to install a larger than normally required SPS system to cover these situations and so a backup generator is required.
Modern generators with “2 wire” or “remote” start and a control panel are able to be started and stopped automaticaly by the inverter if total demand or low battery levels requires it. The generator will then power the demand in the house and simultaneously recharge the battery bank through the inverter/charger. This can all be automated so, inside, life in your home carries on as normal.
