Thermocell’s evacuated plate technology was developed through Canterbury University, is manufactured in Christchurch, is designed for our New Zealand conditions and has been market proven since 1981.

Light weight and modular in design they are perfect for retrofiting on existing houses and to existing cylinders, or for being an aesthetically pleasing and functional asset to your new house.  ModLine systems are “on-roof” and can have plain galvanised or powder coated frames.  ArtLine systems are “in-roof” and look very similar to a skylight.

Being an evacuated plate, the Thermocell system has high efficiencies, begins operating at lower temperatures, cannot boil, and has inbuilt frost protection. 

Being a pumped system, there is minimal water on the roof and the cylinder is inside the house, resulting in the lowest overnight temperature losses of any system tested in New Zealand - a real requirement for our sunny winter days and cold winter nights!

A Thermocell solar hot water system will provide up to 75% of your annual hot water, with the remaining 25% coming from electricity, wetback, boiler, or gas heating.
